Chudleigh Show - each February

Chudleigh Show is a traditional country show with something for all the family. Enjoyed by young and old for over 120 years, making it one of the oldest country shows in Australia, Chudleigh Show takes place on the third Saturday in February each year.

Mole Creek Progress Association staged the hugely successful inaugural Paws at Mole Creek event in March 2009 and this has becomea regular event on the Mole Creek calendar. If you'd like to enjoy a fun-filled dog day out with your best friend - mark this date in your calendar!

International Mural Fest (Sheffield) - April annually

Watch the artists at work, creating new works of (wall) art in the Town of Murals. More information here www.muralfest.com.au.

Targa Rally - April-May annually

This annual event enlivens our area each year; find a vantage point for the timed sections and hold onto your seats! More information here www.targa.org.au.

Agfest (Carrick) - May annually

This huge annual 3 day event features hundreds of displays, exhibits and stalls, including sensational food in a variety of delicious forms. Starts on the first Thursday in May each year. More information here www.agfest.com.au.

Tasmanian Craft Fair (Deloraine) - end October annually

The Tasmanian Craft Fair is without a doubt, one of the major annual attractions of Tasmania, as well as Deloraine and the Great Western Tiers, and starts on the last Friday in October. Run over four days and featuring over 200 stalls in 13 venues around Deloraine, you can stroll around at your leisure or catch the free shuttle bus service - just don't miss it!

A special event for Open Gardens Australia. An exhibition of work by leading Tasmanian artists set in 2½ acres of stunning garden at Wychwood. Curated by Nancy Kowalski of Deloraine, this event showcases a selection of work including ceramics, steelwork, textiles, basketware and wood sculpture all within one of the Meander Valley's most acclaimed gardens.
No bookings required.
$7 per adult.

Also open that weekend for Open Gardens Australia is Green Hills at Red Hills (near Deloraine), Sraosha at Exton, and Mole Creek Guesthouse.
Joint ticket for all 4 gardens $22.

Wychwood Gardens at Mole Creek sculpturesPersonal Perspectives on Garden Design - Sunday 26 February 2012

A special event for Open Gardens Australia. Noted landscape designers Peter Cooper and Tim Barbour have distinctive and unique styles when it comes to garden design in country gardens. They will join Deb and Scott Wilson at Old Wesley Dale in Mole Creek to present a full day workshop, where elements such as hard landscaping, plantings, concept and planning will be discussed. Scott will demonstrate his skills in hedgelaying and drystone walling, as well as host a guided tour of the stunning historic garden at Old Wesley Dale. The day will conclude with an optional tour of one of Peter Cooper's beautiful Meander Valley gardens.
10.00 am – 4.00 pm
Numbers strictly limited, bookings essential
Tickets $80 per person including morning and afternoon tea

Wychwood Apple Festival at Mole CreekHeritage Apple Tasting at Wychwood - Sunday, 1 April 2012

A special event for Open Gardens Australia. One of the most anticipated events in the Meander Valley calendar, this biennial apple tasting has been held for well over 10 years and attracts people from all over the state and mainland. Nik Magnus and Steve Kingston from Woodbridge Fruit Trees will share their love of heritage apples and offer advice on pruning and variety selection. Scores of old varieties from all over the world will be available for tasting, including some that were previously almost lost in cultivation. Set in Wychwood's 2½ acres of stunning garden.
No bookings required. $7 per adult.
